VIP Club Volunteerism Recognition Luncheon

All VIP Club members, spouses, friends, and associates who participated in volunteering activities during the previous year are invited to a FREE lunch at Joseph's Grill on Wednesday, April 17th. Registrations must be made by April 3rd.  You may register to attend by RSVPing "Yes" to the Evite invitation you receive.  In the Evite comments box, list any guests you are bringing.  If Evite doesn’t work for you, call or text Harvey Taipale by April 3rd at 651 280 7332 to let us know if you plan to attend.

 Coordinators for this event are Past President Harvey Taipale, Jim Andrews and Lowell Benson with support from other board members. 

Agenda for our April 17, 2024 event:

1. 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM Check in, Nametags, Coffee & Socializing, cash bar available.
2. 11:30 AM – 12:15 PM Enjoy a hot buffet lunch: Ham & Turkey, potatoes, veggies, gravy, salad, ... coffee & water.
3. 12:15 PM – 12:55 PM Program recognizing our volunteers, Volunteer Extraordinaire Award,  Unisys move to Woodbury, and open mike
4. 12:55 PM – 1:30 PM Last cup of coffee and a bit more socializing.

Volunteer Extraordinaire Award Nominations

If you know of a club member (board members excluded) who has gone above and beyond the norm with his/her volunteerism for several years, please send her/his name and your reason(s) why before March 27^th to board@vipclubmn.org.

This recognition is named the Jansen Certificate recognizing Bernie and Kathy Jansen's decades of support to the Club's volunteerism as well as their work for the Dakota County Historical Society.  Past Volunteer Extraordinaire award recipients were: 2015, Keith Myhre; 2016, Richard 'Dick' Lundgren; 2017, Don Weidenbach; 2018, Tom Turba and Alan Douglass;  2019, Patricia Myhre, 2022 Lowell Benson and 2023 John Westergren.

Joseph's Grill in St. Paul: 140 Wabasha St S 55107. From the Roseville area take 35E South toward St Paul, get into the left lane and exit onto Hwy 52 going south. After crossing the Mississippi river, take the ramp right for Lafayette Rd toward Plato Blvd. Turn right onto Plato (west) for 0.2 mi then turn right onto Wabasha (north). After 1/2 mi, Joseph's will be on the right. From the Eagan area take 35E north to I494 east to Hwy 52 going north. Take the ramp right for Lafayette Road then turn left (west) onto Plato Blvd. After 0.7 mi, turn right (north) onto Wabasha, Joseph's will be on the right after 1/4 mi.
