Site Map
Introduction:  We proudly fly the American Flag at the top right of our pages - thanks to my personal Internet Service Provider, usfamily.net, for the flag icon file.  All pages feature our Legacy icon at the left.  ERA incorporation papers were filed on December 27, 1945 - The ERA business doors opened in St. Paul in January, 1946.  Our Facilities in the Twin Cities have had the names in the icon during our history.  [lab]
Introduction continued:  Our site uses the Microsoft Live Small Business free host and software.  This includes a Cascading Style Sheet layout to provide all pages with an identical header, footer, and page select tabs.  The footer facilitates quick links to all Level 1 pages.  At the bottom of each page just above the footer, we've entered the page number and the last page update date.  The page number is used by the index page to identify text 'mentions' of people names.  We do change the color scheme on occasion just to give readers a different view.  The detail structure has four levels as described below:

1. Level 1 consists of ten main pages:

  •  Home - The level 2 pages are mostly Club activity and history related - the level 2 tabs are: Join Us/Renew Membership, About Us, Calendar/Activities, Club History, Club Sponsors, Lunch Groups, Links & Docs, and Site Map [this page.]
  • Legacy-Defense (LMCO)  - This is the primary page of the ERA to LMCO Legacy.  The level 2 pages relate to the committee and on-going activities.  The level 2 tabs are: Committee, Artifacts, Milestones, Mementos, and Spinoffs.
  •  Legacy-Comm'l (UNISYS) - This page introduces the corporate paths to UNISYS commercial. The level 2 pages are Burroughs, Remington Rand, Sperry, and RCA.

  • People -  There are eleven level 2 pages containing career summaries, oral interviews, anecdotes, etc.. The level 2 tabs are self explanatory.
  •  Engineering - There are eight level 2 pages with begin with the ERA products under the Coupler tab.  The level 2 tabs are: Couplers, Field Service, Interfaces, Memories, Patents, Peripherals, Software, and Training.
  •  Computers - There are nine level 2 pages containing computer information, stories mostly by bit length. The level 2 tabs are self explanatory.
  •  Systems - All of these systems used our computers, software, and other products. The level 2 tabs are Aerospace, Air Traffic Control, ASOC, International, Marines, Aerospace, Naval, Postal, and to be developed.
  •  Facilities - These pages include level 2 tabs for Twin Cities plants, United States sites, International sites and Manufacturing discussions.
  • Links/Documents -URLs for Club functions and computer history research, plus level 2 pages for documents,  archiving of newsletters, and slide presentations.
  • Contact Us - E-mail addresses for the Club and associated positions.

2. Level 2 consists of sub-pages linked by buttons under the Level 1 primary topic heading.  Note that Level 1 and Level 2 pages have a VIP Page number at the bottom preceding the last updated date for the individual page.

3. Level 3 consists of sections withing the Level 1 and 2 pages. The headings of these sections are identified on each page just under the 'On this page, scroll to' words.

4. Level 4

consists of documents which open in their own window for easy return to the linking page.  These are pdf documents, Power Point slides, or jpg charts which  supplement topics on the individual level 1 and level 2 pages .

5. Editing idiosyncrasies:

Within the various pages, we've generally used (parenthesis) to indicate an acronym or abbreviation of the preceeding words.  We've used [brackets] to separate supplemental information within sentences.  I've used {braces} to include my own comments inserted as Editor's notes.  When not otherwise obvious, I've tried to put individual author's initials in brackets at the end of articles, such as mine here [lab].
