After Lockheed Martin announced the closing of their Eagan, MN plant by 2013, several of the LMCO sponsored leagues wanted to continue their play and social interactions. Members of these leagues include a fair number of retirees who approached the VIP Club for help.
Keith Behnke joined the Board in 2011 to facilitate communications with these various employee/retiree recreation leagues. The VIP Club Board also agreed to add league information to our Club's web site. The results going forward are now a combined retiree and employee golf league.
Sadly, many other employee 'recreation' groups have faded away over the decades, i.e. Basketball Leagues, Camera Club, Skeet & Trap, Ski Club, Softball Leagues, etc.
The Unified Legacy Golf League, a merger of the Lockheed Martin and Unisys golf leagues, was formed in 2013. Keith Behnke was instrumental in the merger and presently serves as the golf league liason on the VIP club board. Webmaster Ron Shursen has built an incredible web site that provides up-to-date statistics on tournaments, leagues, teams, and individuals. The League web site is found at http://www.ulglmn.org/umgl/. The league has 258 members who are primarily former or current Unisys/Lockheed Martin or heritage company employees. It hosted 8 tournaments this year averaging about 100 participants in each. Four weekly leagues play at local golf courses - Bunker Hills, Phalen, Emerald Greens and Southern Hills. A season ending awards banquet was held in October at Mancini's with over 100 golfers receiving door prizes after a wonderful meal and a short business meeting. Visit the golf league website (shown above) to view pictures from the banquet. New teams or individual golfers are always welcome to join the ULGL. Contact Keith Behnke - keithbhnk@comcast.net for more information.
The Bowling League which is a three person team mixed league made up of employees and former employees of Univac/Unisys/Lockheed, et al who bowled at 5:00 PM on Wednesdays at Cedarvale Lanes in Eagan. The league is looking for individuals and/or teams for the upcoming 2017 season. Contact Kevin Schwarzbauer, - kschwar@hotmail.com if you are interested in joining or want additional information.
The PC & Electronics Club is a combination of active and retired employees of Lockheed Martin, UNISYS, and all of the predecessor companies. This Club has monthly meetings the second Tuesday of each month at UNISYS MACS Bldg, Eagan in room MPR4 at 5 PM, September through May. We use the visitor's entrance on the North side. A June scheduled meeting is usually a socializing picnic so that we can socialize (2017 plan is tbd.)

There will be no Lockheed Martin Trap & Skeet Club (LMT&SC) in 2013 and no organized shooting by retiree-only groups. Any competitive shooting by past LMT&SC members will be as members of the South St. Paul Gun Club. Several of those who shot during the 2012 season will buy Gun Club memberships and again shoot on Tuesdays after 4:00 p.m., but not as a team with recorded scores. Also, several of us shot on existing So. St. Paul sporting clays teams that shot on Tuesdays. Also, several members occasionally shot on Saturdays.
There are many activities available through the senior citizen clubs in municipalities throughout the state. Our membership list shows that over 86% of us live in Minnesota. These clubs or centers offer a wide variety of activities and most will welcome your participation even if you don’t live in their city. Thanks to Keith Behnke for compiling this list.
